Last night's post was a nice flashback. I haven't written anything like that in about 3 years.
Ugly.
I'll tell you something that's not ugly right now.
The Cubbies are in first place.
I am excited but wary.
Much like my love life, as soon as I get excited and everything seems great...
they break my heart. But like a loyal dog, I come crawling back. Because the Cubs will always be there.
Regardless, they are winning games.
And if the impossible happens...
And they make it to the World Series...
This Polack is going on the first flight out to Chicago.

I've been told this before, and it never seemed to sink in until I realized it was true. YOU CARE TOO MUCH TOO SOON!!! Stop caring so much right away...ask girls out, lots of em, keep doing it! Ask one girl out and set a date for the middle of the week, then ask a different girl out for a Saturday night cocktail. Maybe take one to a f**king dodger game. You're not being a dick if you do, you're being a dick if you don't.
And it's complete bulls**t you actually believe you are the person with problems, or wouldn't make "her" a better person...F**k that!
It's a nice trick "some" women like to play on us men who believe we have nothing to add...or are super lucky just to be around them. They like to put their own shallow/superficial/insecure issues/problems on us as if we really don't have anything to add/solve/support/fund for them.
Don't let that poison F**k with your mind. You have nothing to do with the choices/feelings/development of a woman. STOP TRYING TO BELIEVE YOU DO!!
He's right. Well, I dont' know you so I guess "in theory" he's right.
P.S. I dig your blog :)
Suck. It. Up.
First off, sans the last two paragraphs, Billy is right (surprisingly, but right nonetheless.)
Second, depravity shmepravity. I know this isn't the theologically correct/Lutheran/Christian thing to say, but "depravity" is just the ugly side of what humans choose to do. Implying there's a noble, good side as well. Implying you get to choose what you want to be; you're not a fucked up person who's doomed to infect every girl he meets with his depravity unless you choose to be. I never thought I would say this, but you need to read some Ayn Rand, suck it up, and start doing what you want to do, instead of blogging about it. You want to communicate your feelings to a girl? Fucking do it.
I'll call you.
Thanks for the call Drew.
BTW: that post was brought to you by the help of wine.
I'll keep none the less.
I should call you Billy and tell you what the scoop is. More to the post that I can let on the blog.
And -k, thanks for the shout out.
I don't know if you got it, but I did attempt to call you last night. Anyway, I also agree with ahdrew. Read some Ayn Rand...got me through a lot of different things in my life in order for me to clear up some stuff. I have a few of her books and would be more than willing to share them with you. Keep your head up bro...you've got it.
dude, how many times did I go through this before I got married. It gets better mike. I hit that wall right before I dated your sis, heck, even when I was dating your sis. Call me whenever.
Damion
Listen, I'm not Christian, nor would I ever claim to make you a better man, so let's get a drink. NO pressure, right?!?!
I don't have many wise words about women, I'm on my honeymoon. I tended to stumble into things anyway.
And communication? I'm probably the last person to give advice on that.
But generally speaking,
Sometimes it is good to realize you are terrible. Because we all are terrible. We are all complete assholes. Paul and David and those guys could pretty terrible and they are pillars of the faith.
Right now, you don't need to think about how terrible you are though. Most of us understand our place according to the Law. Don't need to live there for goodness sake. That's hell.
You need words of comfort. Baseball is comfort. Sometimes. (It is not comfort for me now with the Tigers losing 11 of 15 or something stupid like that. but anyway...)
You know what is true. You know the gospel. I know that may not give you inroads into finding babes, but its all I got. Take solace that you and i are piles of dung covered by a fresh blanket of snow. It's easy to get stuck inside your head but remember that the entire Gospel is outside of us.
Keep that as a starting point. Then maybe Ayn Rand McNally will guide you to success in things, I would personally stick to baseball though. I would recommend "The Great American Novel" by Philip Roth. It talks about God and baseball.
oh and do the zipper trick with your pants. chicks dig that.
you are not alone
simple and unwise but the most honest thing I got
